Eugene Marathon 2027: Where to Stay and Race Weekend Guide
Eugene Marathon Weekend returns for its 20th running from Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25, 2027. The race calls itself the largest marathon in the Pacific Northwest, and the 2024, 2025, and 2026 editions sold out. Registration for 2027 is open now on the official Eugene Marathon site.
If you are traveling for the race — or bringing family along for the expo and finish festival — a whole home near campus or downtown is a practical base. Here is the weekend schedule, a course overview, and a few Moxie homes that fit race weekend well.
Race weekend schedule
- Friday, April 23: Health & Wellness Expo at the Graduate Hotel.
- Saturday, April 24: Eugene 5K and Kids Duck Dash (OCCU), Expo, and the Krusteaz pancake breakfast.
- Sunday, April 25: Marathon and Half Marathon start at 7:00 a.m. on Agate Street, finish on the Hayward Field track, then the finish festival.
Most out-of-town runners book Friday through Sunday (or Saturday through Sunday for the longer races). That 2–3 night window is when campus-area hotels fill first, so locking a home early helps.
Course overview
Per the race, the course moves through the University area, Amazon / Frank Kinney Park, the Ruth Bascom river paths, a Springfield loop for the full marathon, Downtown Riverfront Park, and finishes on the Hayward Field track. The Agate Street start and Hayward finish put the University neighborhood at the center of race morning logistics.
Exact packet pickup, parking, and shuttle details will be posted on the official site as race weekend gets closer — always check eugenemarathon.com for the latest.
Why a whole home works for race weekend
- Space for the crew. Runners, family, and friends can share a living room instead of booking separate hotel rooms.
- A real kitchen. Early race breakfasts, recovery meals, and late dinners are easier at home than in a restaurant line.
- Quiet nights before the 7 a.m. start. Residential streets near campus or downtown beat a busy hotel lobby at 5 a.m.
- Free parking and a home base. Park once, walk or rideshare to Agate Street / Hayward, and come back to stretch and rest.

Downtown Studio Apartment in Eugene’s Heart

Book early for April 2027
Registration was already tracking ahead of prior years as of early fall, and past weekends sold out. Lodging near campus tends to go first. If your race dates are set, book the home now and confirm packet pickup and course notes on the official site as they publish.
